I live in Brooklyn now!
“I am humbled in this city
There seems to be an endless sea of people like us
Wakeful dreamers, I pass them on the sunlit streets
In our rooms filled with laughter
We make hope from every small disaster”

watching day exhale and light flood the house.
Grass Valley, CA
I was in Grass Valley a bit ago for work and Jen and I got to stay at the beautiful home of our friend Amanda Evans.
Our time there was short and yet so refreshing, it was nice to be out of the city for a little bit. While I was looking over these photos the lines of this Wendell Berry poem kept coming to mind :
[ When despair for the world grows in me

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last weekend!
It was so great to talk with you all and relive some of the stories behind the portraits. Here’s a shot of Levi captured on the 8x10 camera last spring.I love the way light leaks read in black and white.

Earlier this fall I took some quick shots of Taryn Faye, bestie and front woman of emerging band Golden Days. A few weeks ago we did a shoot with the rest of the band which I really enjoyed doing. I’ve still got some film left to scan but here’s a little preview. Be sure to check out their...

I’m really in disbelief that 2010 is over. What a full year! Filled with such great change, travel and growth as an artist. Sometimes years will pass - and things seems to stay relatively the same. This was not the case for this past year. I felt more heavily the weight of change, loss and gain in this year than ever before in my life. With those changes came great pain and...

This was designer Jamie Haller’s wedding that I shot at El Captian Campground a few weeks ago. I try not to post too many weddings on here but I really just loved shooting this one! Jamie and Craig were married outside in the Santa Barbara hills over looking the ocean. The whole wedding was a dream…beautiful scenery, fashionable guests, lovely bride...

One of my favorite places in the world :: Vik, Iceland
these are some photos I took of Paige at the Julia Barbee shoot last week. I haven’t used studio lights in so long, I forgot how nice they can be! More images featuring the rest of the line coming soon. Happy Weekend.
Golden Days is the music project of one of my best friends Taryn Faye. I am in love with their sound….it’s nostalgic, full and exciting. Taryn and I took these promo shots downtown last week - we are going to do a full band shoot soon with the rest of the guys in the band but for now go check out their myspace and listen to their newest song ‘Future,’...

One of my favorite parts of taking a trip like this, is coming home. I missed the Bermuda House and my friends back home while traveling. I’m glad to be back, the trip was truly inspiring. More than I could have asked for. Pictures soon. But for now, here’s a bit of life back at home::

Treasure island
“Sitting by the fire in the housekeeper’s room, I approached that island in my fancy from every possible direction; I explored every acre of its surface; I climbed a thousand times to that tall hill they call the Spy-glass, and from the top enjoyed the most wonderful and changing prospects. Sometimes the isle was thick with savages, with whom we fought, sometimes full of dangerous animals that...
