I’m really in disbelief that 2010 is over. What a full year! Filled with such great change, travel and growth as an artist. Sometimes years will pass - and things seems to stay relatively the same. This was not the case for this past year. I felt more heavily the weight of change, loss and gain in this year than ever before in my life. With those changes came great pain and discomfort but always followed by grace that gave understanding and acceptance. Things cannot stay the same, not in our lives, our relationships, our art. They must change and with that we must accept them as they are; ephemeral and yet always with us. 2010 was one of the hardest years I’ve had yet, but at the same time it was also the best and most beautiful; leaving me in awe at the way that struggle and delight seem to give life to each other. All that being said, I am truly excited for this next year and all the growth that is up ahead. I’ve got a lot of shoots lined up that I’m really looking forward to, and I’ve booked work so far in Hawaii, San Francisco and New York! I’m thankful that I have a job that has allowed me to travel so much, and look forward to where it will take me in the coming year. I’m also so thankful for everyone who started following this blog! Your feedback and encouragement has been deeply inspiring. I wish the best for you all.
Bright days ahead,
angi

low tide on the island & the earth is changing

going through archives today & i found this shot.
I didn’t get to put it in my show but it was always one of my favorites.
Out of all my portraits from that show this said what I needed it to the most.
It’s kodak porta 400nc shot on the good ole 8x10 camera.

live water heals memories. i look up the creek and here it comes, the future, being borne aloft as on a winding succession of laden trays. you may wake and look for the window and breathe the real air, and say, with satisfaction or with longing, “this is it.” but if you look up the creek, if you look up the creek in any weather, your spirit fills, and you are saying, with an exulting rise of the lungs, “here it comes!

This was designer Jamie Haller’s wedding that I shot at El Captian Campground a few weeks ago. I try not to post too many weddings on here but I really just loved shooting this one! Jamie and Craig were married outside in the Santa Barbara hills over looking the ocean. The whole wedding was a dream…beautiful scenery, fashionable guests, lovely bride & groom, and amazing DIY details. Much thanks to Emily Blake for second shooting with me and to Jamie & Craig for an amazing weekend.

etc, Iceland.

these are some photos I took of Paige at the Julia Barbee shoot last week. I haven’t used studio lights in so long, I forgot how nice they can be! More images featuring the rest of the line coming soon. Happy Weekend.

Golden Days is the music project of one of my best friends Taryn Faye. I am in love with their sound….it’s nostalgic, full and exciting. Taryn and I took these promo shots downtown last week - we are going to do a full band shoot soon with the rest of the guys in the band but for now go check out their myspace and listen to their newest song ‘Future,’ they’re currently recording more songs and playing shows! have a listen, tell all your friends.
